Hrvatska Day 2

Day 2.  We left Zadar around 9 am to check out one of the many national parks inside Croatia.  It was like a 2 hour drive to get to Plitvice Lakes National park.  I've only seen pictures of the place and didn't know what to expect, but man, it was paradise. It's probably the most beautiful place I've ever been too.  The lakes our all perfectly clear in color, perfectly blue, fishes swim unhindered in the water, and the waterfalls are majestic.  We did the long trail that goes through all the park which includes a tram, and a ferry.  But just hiking through the park was amazing, and the weather was perfect until the end, when a light rain started. As soon as we got to the big waterfall, rain started to fall, so we ended up passing it up.  But we did get to see it, when we hiked up to the exit.    Plitvice Lakes was definitely one of the coolest things we've seen on this trip, and it's definitely a place I'd recommend everyone to see at least once.

We had to drive to Novalja, on the island of Pag after, and our GPS took us on some weird route not on the main highway.  We we're going 170 KM/h in our shitty Renault, through some very tiny villages.  Eventually our GPS led us to where we needed to go to get to the island of Pag, but you had to take a fairy.  It was like 160 kuna or 26 bucks to transport our car on the ferry.  From there, we had to drive to Novalja, to our apartment and check-in.

We had zero idea where to go, and the roads there are very narrow. Eventually we found a tourist office, and the information we needed.  We got to our apartment and it was alright, but there was no wi-fi. And the shower didn't really have hot water.  But there was a nice restaurant next to us, that served some great Pag "Goat Cheese" and one of the greatest beef steaks ever made.  But walking on the coast of the island and looking at the Adriatic, its just gorgeous.  Now the party thing we were going to started at 11 ish, and we had our free bus transfer. However, the bus never showed up, so we just walked.  We hung out with these people from Klugenberg, Austria, and some spoke English, but they were really friendly and welcomed our group to hang out with them.  They had a similar joke about the Croatian word, "Dobar Dan" because we would say that we were Dobar Done, and they had something similar.  The party itself was whatever, but it was fun chilling with the Austrians, and they invited us to eat breakfast with them at 5 in the morning at their apartment.  We had some whisky and coke along with bread, cheese, and salami at 6 in the morning.  Needless to say around 7 am my body was shutting down, and I barely made it into my bed at the apartment.  I was Dobar Done.
